Every month thousands of pounds worth of medication is wasted within the NHS. It is difficult to know exactly how much as only a proportion of unused medicines are returned to pharmacies for destruction, however nationally the estimate is that £1 in every £25 spent on medicines ends up wasted.

The news this week has highlighted the pressure that Accident and Emergency Departments in hospitals all over the country are under. In an article in the Daily Telegraph this week, there was a suggestion that one of the reason was due to a lack of confidence in GP Out Of Hours Services.
