Repeat Prescriptions

The simplest and most effecient way of processing repeat prescriptions is to order them via the Electronic Prescription Management System.  Once you have signed up, you can order your prescription on-line and then pick up the prescription directly from the pharmacist.  If we need to prescribe something following a telephone consultation the system allows us to send medication directly to your pharmacist negating the need for you to pick up the prescription and take it to the pharmacy to be dispensed.  We were amongst the first practices in Cheshire to start using the ePMS service and we feel soon this will become the default way of ordering medication. If you are interested in signing up to this convenient servie then please ask a receptionist for more details.

You can read more about ePMS via the official website by clicking here.

There are also other ways for you to order your medication:

  1. Online via our patient access website
This system allows you to register for our online patient access system allowing you to book and cancel appointments online, order repeat prescriptions and provides access to various data on your medical records.  If you would like to register for this service then please speak to a receptionist.

  2. The traditional way
The tried and trusted way of ordering a repeat prescription is the system which we have used for decades.  You tick the items you require on the right hand side, put the slip into the repeat prescription box in reception and then pick up your signed prescription 72 hours later.
Lots of people still prefer to use this method and it works well.  It does however require 2 trips to the surgery and a trip to the pharmacist.

  3. Via your Pharmacist
All of our local pharamacists offer a repeat prescription service.  If you set this up then the ordering of your medication will happen through the pharamacist.  Please contact your pharamacist directly to set this up.

Telephone Triage

Telephone Triage - How does it work and what is it for?

Priorslegh Medical Centre has operated a telephone triage service for some time, for those not familiar with a triage system here is how it works:

  • If you have an emergency and need to speak to a clinician urgently please phone the surgery in the morning or after 130pm for an afternoon call back
  • Triage is for emergency queries only, that does not include medication request or sick note requests
  • You have to be available to come down to the surgery within 2-3 hours if needed. If you are going to work then it is not an emergency for telephone triage.
  • Your call will be triaged along with nearly 100 other calls in a morning and the same number of calls in the afternoon; this means we cannot give you a time you will be called back.
  • Triage does not always mean you have to come to the surgery, if a clinician feels they are happy discussing your condition with you over the phone they can do a prescription for you if needed and it can be ready to collect the same morning.
